The deep depression is set to bring significant rainfall to coastal districts like Nagai, Karaikal, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, and Ramanathapuram. Rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, and the India Meteorological Department said the depression over Bay of Bengal has formed into a deep depression and it is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on November 27.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin held a high-level review meeting as the MET department predicted a cyclonic storm. Relief centres, medical teams, and NDRF units are in place for Delta districts.
