The film stars Jared Leto as Ares, a computer program sent from the digital world into the real world on a mission to introduce artificial intelligence beings to humans.

As per Disney’s official synopsis, “‘Tron: Ares’ follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with AI beings.”

Joachim Rønning, who directed Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” and “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” slides behind the camera for the sci-fi adventure. He directs from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.
