Eagles get receiver John Metchie III from Texans for tight end Harrison Bryant, AP source says
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver John Metchie from the Houston Texans for veteran tight end Harrison Bryant, a person with knowledge of the trade said.
Last season, he played 45 percent of the Texans' offensive snaps and caught 24 balls for 254 yards and a touchdown.
John Metchie is in Philadelphia and officially a member of the Eagles after a trade that sent a late-round pick and tight end Harrison Bryant to Houston for the former Alabama wide receiver and a sixth-round pick. Now officially a member of the Eagles, Metchie will wear the jersey No. 80.
The Eagles’ 22-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday appeared to aid some bubble players in their quests to land spots. Others still have more to prove before solidifying their places.
