Johnny Depp to star as Ebenezer Scrooge in new film, Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol. The seasoned character actor is set to bring new life to a timeless holiday classic, starring as Ebenezer Scrooge in the upcoming film Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol .
If the deal comes through, Depp would be joining the movie directed by Ti West, who recently directed the "X" trilogy of films to critical and commercial acclaim. Oscar-nominated Andrea Riseborough is also in talks to star.
The last well-known film Depp previously starred in was 2018's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. As a result of the controversial news stories surrounding his relationship with Heard, Depp was ultimately fired and replaced by Mads Mikkelsen for 2022's Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
A Christmas Carol for Paramount Pictures. Depp would play the title role of Ebenezer Scrooge, following in the footsteps of the likes of Bill Murray, Michael Caine, and Jim Carrey.
