A family and community are outraged after a shooting at an apartment complex in the East Oak Cliff neighborhood on Friday left an 8-year-old girl critically injured and fighting for her life. The little girl remains in the Intensive Care Unit and is undergoing multiple surgeries.

The announcement came more than seven months after Johnson was shot in her car at Glendale Shopping Center in east Oak Cliff on April 13. Police said at the time that two men fired multiple shots into the vehicle before fleeing, and quickly named Bell and 18-year-old Keylan Bowens as suspects.

Dallas Police on Saturday arrested 25-year-old Denute Bell. He's been charged with murder in connection with the April 13 shooting of 30-year-old Shaketta Johnson on South Marsalis Avenue.

Police received the call around 6:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Highland Village Drive near Simpson Stuart Road.

A child was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Dallas' East Oak Cliff neighborhood on Friday night. The shooting happened on Wilhurt Avenue, near E Illinois Avenue. Investigators say the child was shot by an unknown suspect.

DALLAS - Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Dallas' Southeast Oak Cliff neighborhood early Tuesday morning. Police were called to a home on Lovingood Drive, near Bonnie View Road shortly after 1 a.m. Investigators found 26-year-old Daniel Reyes had been shot. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dallas Police Department was called to a crash just after 4:30 a.m. in the East Oak Cliff area of Dallas on Sunday.
