Oscar Piastri remains confident he can still win this year’s Formula One world championship even after seeing his 182 day old lead in the standings almost wiped out after a horror weekend at the United States Grand Prix.
Piastri’s lead over McLaren teammate Norris was cut to 14 points after finishing three places behind him in the United States Grand Prix, but Verstappen holds significant momentum having taken 64 points out of the Drivers’ Championship leaders in recent races.
Piastri started the race sixth on the grid and, despite a solid launch, was unable to challenge Lewis Hamilton ahead
