A court here on Friday extended till October 26 the police remand of nine accused in the Baba Siddique murder case

The accused, identified as 32-year-old Sujit Sushil Singh, is being transported to Mumbai for further questioning.

The Mumbai Police on Friday arrested a 32-year-old man from Punjab's Ludhiana in connection with the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique. According to a PTI report, Sujit Sushil Singh was nabbed by a Mumbai Police team in Ludhiana and was being brought to Mumbai.

Delhi Police Special Cell arrested seven suspected shooters from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who were allegedly planning an attack in Rajasthan. This follows the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai.

As per the Mumbai crime branch which is investigating the case, a "module" based in Thane, comprising Nitin Sapre and Ram Kanoujia, initially received the contract to kill Siddique but later backed out of disagreement over payment and also considering the NCP leader's clout.

Mumbai Police arrested Sujit Sushil Singh in Ludhiana in connection with NCP leader Baba Siddique's murder. Nine other accused had their police remand extended till October 26. Siddique was shot dead on October 12 outside his son's office by three shooters linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Police have arrested one more person in connection with the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique from Ludhiana, an official said on Friday, taking the number of those held in the case to 15.
