Central Ohio is expecting its coldest weather of the season this week and organizations around the city are ready to help. There were some chilly winds Wednesday morning and parts of the Scioto River downtown were frozen.

STAYING WARM - A warming center opens Tuesday night to help those who need to escape the cold as temperatures are expected to drop to below-freezing across the Mid-South.

The colder months are upon us and as temperatures dip below freezing and Columbus continues to face a housing crisis, warming centers across the area are feeling the impact. Many are packed just three days into December.
