The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) is targeting further air connectivity growth as American Airlines prepares to launch direct service from Miami to South Caicos.
According to a notice posted by the Federal Aviation Administration, the eighth test flight of the Starship vehicle could take place as early as February 26 from the Starbase launch site in South Texas. The launch window extends from 5:30 pm local time (23:30 UTC) to 7:09 pm (01:09 UTC).
Travelers who were hoping to fly directly from Miami this weekend on American Airlines’ inaugural flight into one of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ largely overlooked islands will have to wait.
A launch window contained in a Federal Aviation Administration regional airspace advisory points to a possible Starship Flight 8 from Boca Chica as early as next week, though the advisory's launch window covers several days through March 6.
