Less that two weeks after saying it would close 500 stores, Joann will now close all of its 850 stores, including three in the Jacksonville area.
South Florida residents may soon find fewer options for their crafting needs as the major retailer filed for bankruptcy for the second time.
The initial store closing list for crafting retailer Joann includes at least one location in all 50 states, except Hawaii.
Joann's roots date back to 1943, with a single storefront in Cleveland, Ohio. And the retailer later grew into a national chain. Formerly known as Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the company rebranded itself with the shortened “Joann” name for its 75th anniversary.
Joann Inc. held an auction to sell off its assets. GA Joann Retail Partnership, a limited liability company of the GA Group asset disposition, valuation, appraisal and real estate services company, along with Wilmington Savings Fund Society as the prepetition term loan agent, was the winning bidder.
Jo-Ann Stores announced it will shut down hundreds of its stores around the United States. Find out the reason behind the abrupt closure.
