Former interim lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje has confirmed he is still planning to compete at UFC 313 next month, after news surfaced this morning
‘Ataman’ has been actively pursing a return to the Octagon having not fought since suffering an injury in his main event clash with Mateusz Gamrot in September of 2023. His fight before that was a majority decision loss to Gaethje at UFC 286 in London with both men unsurprisingly pocketing a fight of the night bonus.
Two top UFC lightweights have offered to step in and fight Justin Gaethje in place of Dan Hooker at UFC 313 next month.
Justin Gaethje hopes he gets the opportunity to challenge UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Gaethje (25-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) will look to re-enter the title picture when he takes on Dan Hooker (24-12 MMA, 14-8 UFC) in a five-round lightweight co-main event (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) March 8 at UFC 313 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
