Another winter storm will hit the United States this week and will bring snow to Kentucky, after the state was hit with devastating flooding over the weekend that killed 11 and prompted over 1,000 rescues.
A powerful winter storm slammed communities from the Plains and Midwest through the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kentucky Gov ... "Should the storm develop to its full potential, it could deliver the biggest snowfall of the winter for millions of Americans," AccuWeather said.
The latest in a repeated pattern of winter storms is taking direct aim at the East Coast where heavy snow and some ice is forecast in several states.
A winter storm is projected to hit western Kentucky, northwestern Tennessee and southern Illinois Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service office in Paducah is predicting several inches of snow that could impact travel Tuesday and Wednesday followed by a “dangerous” cold later in the week.
Some states are expecting up to 12 inches, with snowfall rates as high as 2 inches at times, making travel "very difficult."
