A 2028 Chicago convention could help Pritzker's nomination prospects in what is expected to be a crowded field of primary presidential challengers.

Chicago has submitted a pair of bids seeking to host the Democratic National Conventions in 2028 and 2032, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the move. Chicago successfully hosted the 2024 convention.

Chicago has formally filed bids to host the 2028 and 2032 Democratic National Conventions, seeking to bring the party’s nominating event back after serving as host for the most recent convention.

"There’s no better way for the party to find its path back to power than by returning to the state that nominated President Barack Obama twenty years ago."

The Democratic-NPL Party will hold its state convention March 6-8 at Bismarck State College. All official business will take place March 7 at the college’s Advanced Technology Center. The party will seek to endorse candidates for U.

Buoyed by their success last time, local officials are moving to lure both the 2028 and 2032 Democratic National Conventions back to Chicago.

They say all official business will take place on Saturday, March 7. Delegates to the state convention are elected at their legislative district conventions.
