Vice President Kamala Harris has secured enough votes from Democratic delegates to become the party’s nominee for president, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said Friday.

Aug. 2 (UPI) --Vice President Kamala Harris has won enough delegate votes to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and the Harris campaign announced Friday.

A vote by the large California delegate contingent gave Harris the support needed to become the Democratic nominee, which will not be made official until the roll call vote of all the delegates.
