In light of the heavy rain forecast, holiday has been declared for all schools in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also inspected preparedness of the state.

The IMD has warned that besides Chennai, districts including Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, and Madurai are expected to see heavy rain throughout the day.

The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin confirmed, “We have increased the number of motor pumps and deployed additional volunteers based on rain patterns observed in October. The Tamil Nadu government is fully prepared for the rains.
