The Russian army continues its offensive in the Kursk region. According to the latest updates, the buffer zone controlled by Ukraine's Defense Forces has once again shrunk, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

Ukrainian forces have pulled almost entirely out of the Kursk region of Russia, ending an offensive that had stunned the Kremlin over the summer with its speed and audacity.

Thousands of Ukrainian troops who stormed into Russia's Kursk region last summer in a shock incursion are nearly surrounded by Russian forces there, in a major blow to Kyiv which hoped to use its presence there as leverage over Moscow in any peace talks.
