SiFive, a designer of chips based on the RISC-V computing platform, announced a series of new AI chips for high-performance AI workloads.

Seems someone's looking for an Arm wrestle SiFive, having designed RISC-V CPU cores for various AI chips, is now offering to license the blueprints for its own homegrown full-blown machine-learning accelerator.

Open-source semiconductor design company SiFive Inc. today unveiled its latest chip design blueprints, the SiFive Intelligence XM Series, saying these are the first based on its RISC-V architecture to include a highly scalable artificial intelligence matrix engine.
