A 20-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when she was apparently bitten by a stand tiger shark while standing in waist-deep water, according to officials.

A 12-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital after a suspected shark attack occurred in Hilton Head Island on Tuesday, June 17.

The woman had minor cuts to her left foot and leg after being bitten on Wednesday. She was transported to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, officials said.
