Some of the Yankees are using redesigned bats this season and they appear to have made a difference in the first two games of the season.

The New York Yankees had a historic first inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, as they hit four home runs for the first time in franchise history.

The Yankees hit four home runs in the first inning off Brewers starter Nestor Cortes on Saturday, starting with three consecutive homers on three pitches. Their nine home runs broke the franchise record of eight and was one short of the MLB record, 10 homers in a single game accomplished by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1987.

The New York Yankees continue to send baseballs into the orbit. In fact, they just set a new MLB record amid a pair of home runs on Tuesday.

For one game, one nine-inning bundle of chaos for the history books, the Yankees made it easy to forget that 41 homers worth of power bolted to Queens and completely reshaped their offseason.

With a few more home runs off Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes, the Yankees made more MLB history to start the 2025 season.
