AP employees don’t vote themselves, but they do choose the voters. AP Top 25 voters comprise around 60 writers and broadcasters who cover college football for AP members and other select outlets. The goal is to have every state with a Football Bowl Subdivision school represented by at least one voter.

On Saturday, Michigan bounced back from a Week 7 loss at USC by defeating Washington 24-7 behind 230 passing yards and two touchdowns from Bryce Underwood, along with three interceptions by the Wolverines ’ defense off Huskies quarterback Demond Williams.

Seven ranked teams lost in Week 8, including two in the top 5, with four of those losses coming to unranked opponents.

Week 7 of college football is set to send shockwaves through the AP Top 25. Arch Manning and a stout Texas defense restored faith in the Longhorns with a dominant 23-6 win over No. 6 Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry game.

The college football season has hit the halfway point with 11 teams still undefeated. Only two of them, UNLV and Navy, are not in The Associated Press Top 25 poll this week. UNLV has flown under the radar while starting 6-0 in Dan Mullen's first season.
