On Thursday night, the NFL Honors ceremony saw Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, as expected. What wasn't anticipated, however, was Denver Broncos ' rookie phenom Bo Nix coming in third in the voting.

Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix had many doubters going into his rookie year in the NFL. Selected as the last of six quarterbacks to be drafted in the first round last year, there were few expectations for Nix to succeed with the Denver Broncos in his first season under head coach Sean Payton.

In the 2024 season, Daniels and Nix brought to nine the number of rookie quarterbacks who have started every regular-season game for a team that made the NFL playoffs. Daniels received all but one of the 50 first-place votes.

A running back or tight end with elite receiving traits, an athletic inside linebacker and a more athletic safety are priorities for Denver.

Denver certainly exceeded expectations in Year 1 with Bo Nix, but the team will look to avoid a sophomore slump from their rookie quarterback.

The Denver Broncos have turned this ship around in just two seasons, and they are now in a position to make an even bigger jump in 2025.
