Two English Premier League sides that have had bumpy starts to the new season meet up on Saturday, as Newcastle United gets set to host Fulham.

Newcastle United host Fulham on Saturday at St James’ Park in a meeting between two sides separated by a single point in the Premier League table. Eddie Howe’s team sit 14th after eight matches, while Marco Silva’s Fulham are one place below.

Newcastle are hovering dangerously above the drop zone, and Howe knows his side cannot afford another slip-up, having won just one of their last four Premier League games (D1, L2). Saturday’s outing is effectively a must-win, and Howe must figure out a formula to get all three points without a number of key players.

Silva's existing deal runs out at the end of this season and he had been admired as Nottingham Forest looked to replace Ange Postecoglou.
