SEBLINE, Lebanon (AP) — The war in Gaza was always personal for many Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Many live in camps set up after 1948, when their parents or grandparents fled their homes in land that became Israel, and they have followed a year's worth of news of destruction and displacement in Gaza with dismay.

Israeli strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut continued overnight as Lebanon’s Health Ministry says more than 2,000 people have been killed so far in Israel’s attacks across the country, including 127 children and 261 women.

Blasts heard in capital’s southern suburbs shortly after Israel issued yet another evacuation order warning of strikes.

The Islamist group Hamas rejected what it called "a false narrative and fabricated story" about a Yazidi woman Israel said was freed in Gaza in a secret operation involving Israel, the United States and Iraq.

A 21-year-old Yazidi woman has been rescued from Gaza where she had been held captive by Hamas for years after being trafficked by ISIS.
