DETROIT -- Dillon Dingler’s triple in a six-run first inning helped the Detroit Tigers finish off a sweep of the Houston Astros with a 7-2 win on Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park. The Tigers (76-53) took three from the Astros (69-58) by a combined score of 18-2 and have won seven of their last eight.
Correa was brought back to Houston to aid in the second-half push, and he’s made it clear his return meant another voice in the clubhouse. During his first stint with the Astros, Correa made his leadership known throughout multiple postseason runs, with the ultimate run coming in 2017 when they won the World Series.
