Italy has officially secured a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be hosted in India. This marks a historic moment as it will be the first time the Italian national cricket team participates in an ICC global event.

Captain Joe Burns said it was "special moment" when he realised Italy had qualified for the T20 World Cup for the first time despite suffering a nerve-shredding nine-wicket defeat to the Netherlands.

Italy created history by qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup. The marquee T20 ICC event is set to be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.
