The sing-along version of the animated film "KPop Demon Hunters", which has become a cultural phenomenon, topped the domestic box office this weekend, in what appears to be a historic first for streaming giant Netflix .

The uber-popular animated musical that had been released to Netflix’s streaming platform was the top movie at the box office over the weekend, Bloomberg reported. It is estimated to have earned between $18 million and $20 million on Saturday and Sunday. It was the first box office win for Netflix, according to Deadline.

KPop Demon Hunters just set a box office record but did so at a disadvantage over all its competition. Netflix must be thrilled.
