Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced on Monday that bromazolam, also known as “Designer Xanax,” received the emergency designation as a Schedule 1 controlled substance.

Beshear designated bromazolam as a Schedule 1 controlled substance and has banned it from being sold in Kentucky. The ban allows law enforcement the ability to make arrests for sales or possession.

Two people were injured in a shooting on Kentucky State University’s campus early Sunday, according to the Frankfort Police Department. The shooting happened around 2:35 a.m. near Young Hall at KSU. Police said multiple people in a car opened fire on a group of people, hitting and injuring two.
