After missing a chunk of training camp because of a nagging groin injury, Jones is making a late surge to lock down a spot on the opening night roster.

Elias Lindholm is expected to play his second preseason game as he ramps up from an earlier injury. Max Jones and Jeffrey Viel, who both have missed time with undisclosed injuries are listed on the travel roster for the game. The Bruins have 13 forwards listed, but only 12 will play.

Max Jones was an intriguing signing for the Bruins over the summer – a big, energetic winger and former first-round pick who would seem to fit in perfectly with the new hard-to-play-against vibe the B’s are trying to establish.
