Wayne Rooney has this week been called out for his work ethic by Tom Brady during his time in charge at Birmingham City and now Rooney's own previous quotes about Brady have emerged. Rooney is one of Manchester United and England's greatest-ever footballers but his managerial career has not gone to plan so far.

Tom Brady, minority owner of Birmingham City, gave his take on former manager Wayne Rooney's work ethic and labelled some players from the 2023-24 season as lazy and entitled.

Brady has a tour of the facility before sitting down with Rooney, who tells the American how he would show up to training at 9am during the summer’s pre-season preparations. Brady subtly responds by telling Rooney he would get to the team’s facility at 6 am. Whether intentional or not, it demonstrates Brady’s competitive edge.
