HUNT, Texas (AP) — More than 160 people are believed to be missing in Texas in the aftermath of the flash floods that killed more than 100 over the July Fourth weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott said Tuesday.
While many Texas counties have outdoor sirens used for severe weather alerts including floods, Kerr County does not.
There are more than 100 emergency personnel on the ground working to reunite families, the sheriff said. A large-scale search and rescue effort is ongoing.
