The Kremlin on Tuesday welcomed what it described as a much more balanced U.S. stance on Ukraine after the United Nations Security Council on Monday adopted a U.S.-drafted resolution that took a neutral position on the conflict.

On the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the United Nations on Monday adopted a pair of competing resolutions.

The U.S. is lobbying countries around the world to oppose a resolution brought forward at the U.N. General Assembly by Ukraine and European countries.
