New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells jogged his way into an unusual double play during the ninth inning of Wednesday's game versus the Tampa Bay Rays ( box score) when he lost track of how many outs there were in the frame.

Ryan McMahon walks it off in the 11th inning as the Yankees come out on top in a back-and-forth game with the Rays.

The first returns on the New York Yankees' bullpen additions at the trade deadline were about as bad as they could have been, with Jake Bird, David Bednar and Camilo Doval combining to give up nine runs (seven earned) in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Miami Marlins.

The Yankees acquired David Bednar, Jake Bird and Camilo Doval before Thursday's deadline to hopefully build what could be one of the best bullpens in the league.
