KYIV — After nearly three years of living under constant threat of Russian airstrikes while their troops fight a grinding campaign against Russia’s invasion, many Ukrainians long for an end to the war, but they now fear it could come on unfavorable terms.

COMMENTARY: American policy-makers should take this pathology into account when pondering whatever negotiations, or other Western actions, might bring the war in Ukraine to a just conclusion.

The pugnacious response followed Trump’s suggestion that Ukraine was responsible for Russia’s invasion three years ago.

The White House floated a proposal to secure U.S. access to half of Ukraine’s mineral resources after the war, reportedly including lithium, graphite and uranium.
