Today, West Hollywood remains one of the most vibrant and upbeat parts of Los Angeles, boasting renowned restaurants, Old Hollywood hotspots, premier live music venues and designer shopping.

Since opening doors in 1981, the West Hollywood restaurant will serve up its last dishes at the end of March as operators blamed rising costs, including higher hourly pay for employees.

The restaurant had to close after two years, but after a four-year hiatus, Zabala announced in November 2024 the return of Somni and found a new home in West Hollywood.

Two other West Hollywood restaurants, Dorsey reports, have also closed: the Den on Sunset, open for 16 years, and the West Hollywood location of Irish pub chain Rock & Reilly’s.
