Texas Republicans on Monday aimed to resume pushing through redrawn U.S. House district maps that would carve out a bigger GOP advantage in the 2026 midterm elections after state Democrats indicated they were ready to end a two-week walkout.

Texas House Democrats are expected to return to the Legislature on Monday after denying a quorum for two weeks.

After two weeks out of state, Democratic lawmakers said they would return to Austin and lay the groundwork for a legal challenge to the GOP’s proposed congressional map.
