Throwback headliners on the bill next year include new wave synth icons New Order, brooding rocker Nick Cave with his backing band The Bad Seeds, genre-bending Devo, pop heroes The Go-Go’s and Aimee Mann’s ‘Til Tuesday, playing together with their original members for the first time in 35 years.

The Cruel World festival will once again bring giants of post-punk, new wave, and goth to Southern California next spring. Taking place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on May 17, the 2025 edition of the fest will be headlined by no less than New Order and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, New Order, the Go-Go’s and a reunion of ‘Til Tuesday are among the acts atop the lineup for Cruel World Festival 2025, festival organizers announced Monday.

The Cruel World Festival is set to return to Pasadena on May 17, featuring headliners Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and New Order. Goldenvoice’s one-day event will again take place at Brookside at the Rose Bowl.

Today (October 21), Cruel World revealed its 2025 lineup, date, and location. On May 17, 2025, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and New Order have been tapped as Cruel World Festival 2025’s headliners.

The Cruel World 2025 lineup has arrived, featuring New Order, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Go-Go’s, Devo, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Death Cult, Garbage, Madness, ‘Til Tuesday, She Wants Revenge, Alison Moyet, and many more act made to make your goth heart swoon.

While Amazon Go helped pioneer the concept of the totally contactless store, others, like 7-Eleven and Walmart, have entered the territory. Also participating were new investors Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Kamay Ventures (the investment arm of Coca-Cola and Arcor Group), as well as existing investors Metro AG and Techstars Ventures.

Cruel World Fest is back for another year, and New Order and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will headline 2025's festival. It's scheduled to take place May 17 at the Rose Bowl's Brookside in Pasadena, California.
