Cuba`s electrical grid collapsed again early on Saturday morning, state-run media reported, plunging the entire country into blackout for a second time just hours after authorities announced they had begun reestablishing service.

MIAMI: The Cuban people have been left in the dark after their nation's electrical grid collapsed Friday. "It was really frustrating because we don't know how long it will last," Omar McKenzie, a Cuban resident in Havana told CBS News Miami.

Cuba's power-grid operator said it had restored electricity to most of the capital Havana on Monday even as Tropical Storm Oscar lashed the island's eastern end, downing trees and power lines.

Cuba's government is reportedly working to reestablish electrical service across the country after the national grid collapsed for the second time since midday Friday.
