Rockstar Games apologizes after announcing that Grand Theft Auto 6, its eagerly awaited video game, won't be released until next year.

Take-Two Interactive on Friday pushed the release of “Grand Theft Auto VI” to May 26, 2026, extending the wait for the most hotly anticipated title in video-gaming history and sending its shares tumbling 8% in early trading.

Rockstar Games is delaying the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI to May 26th, 2026. The game had originally been planned to release in fall 2025, but Rockstar Games now says the team needs extra time “to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”
