Hurricane Milton Spawned Dozens of Tornadoes in Florida Before Making Landfall
As the outer bands of Hurricane Milton swept across Florida on Wednesday, they spawned dozens of tornadoes, even before the powerful eye of the hurricane struck land.The National Weather Service issued 126 tornado warnings across the state—the most ever for Florida in one day—and meteorologists believe several dozen tornadoes might have touched down between the I-4 corridor that runs between Tampa and Orlando and the southern tip of the peninsula in Florida Bay.
