A small brush fire was burning Monday afternoon in the Orange County community of Laguna Beach. The Rancho Fire was reported near Rancho Laguna Road and Morningside Drive in the coastal community. Flames were burning uphill in heavy brush with a moderate rate of spread.

Laguna Beach authorities issued evacuation orders for some residents living near the Rancho Fire. The city urged residents living on La Mirada Street, Katella Street, Summit Drive and Baja Street to evacuate. An evacuation warning was issued to the Arch Beach Heights neighborhood.

Fireworks are the suspected cause of the Rancho fire that ignited in a hilly area of Laguna Beach on Monday afternoon, prompting evacuations orders for a few hundred homes, officials said.
