WASHINGTON, D.C. - A motorcyclist was left dead in a fatal collision involving a D.C. police cruiser on Saturday morning.

An investigation is underway after a cyclist crashed into the side of an unmarked D.C. Police cruiser in Columbia Heights early Saturday morning.

A motorcyclist died after they struck a police cruiser in Northwest D.C. early Saturday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Police said that at about 4:20 a.m., an unmarked MPD cruiser was driving west on Columbia Road when it arrived at the intersection of 13th Street.
