Upper Peninsula: Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for big chunks of the U.P., both on the west side from Iron Mountain to the Keweenaw Peninsula, and on the east side from just east of Marquette and stretching over to the Soo. NWS forecasters are calling this a “long-duration lake-effect” event.
Lake-effect snow has arrived in West Michigan
Although lake-effect snow will taper throughout the weekend, the below-freezing temperatures aren't going anywhere. Expect highs near 30° today with breezy winds leaving our wind chills in the upper teens. Saturday will be even colder, only topping out in the upper 20s but feeling like the low to mid-teens.
