The Missouri Tigers were rewarded on Sunday after their 23-17 double overtime defeat of the Auburn Tigers. In the latest AP Top 25, Missouri was bumped up one spot from No. 16 to No. 15. Week 8 of the college football season concluded four consecutive weeks of Auburn playing teams ranked in the top 25. That is life in the SEC, though.

After both teams missed field goals in the first overtime, Beau Pribula’s 3-yard touchdown run in the second period gave Missouri (6-1, 2-1 SEC) the lead for good. Auburn (3-4, 0-4) then turned the ball over on downs to end the game.

To much surprise, Auburn's loss to Missouri did not affect their place within the weekly rankings published by USA TODAY Sports College Sports reporter Paul Myerberg. Myerberg keeps Auburn at No. 54 this week ahead of its next matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
