Turkey launched fresh air strikes on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in Syria and Iraq overnight, hitting 47 targets, in response to a gun attack that killed five people in Ankara, Defence Minister Yasar Guler said on Thursday.

Turkish warplanes attacked nearly three dozen targets of a Kurdish militant organization in northern Iraq and Syria, Ankara's ministry of defense said late Wednesday.

In response to a terrorist attack in the Turkish capital, Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) launched operations targeting the PKK/YPG in northern Syria and Iraq, according to security sources.
