Two former Ocean City Police officers​ died in the line of duty during two separate shooting incidents over the weekend, department officials said.

Officers responded about midnight to a report of gunshots fired in the 100 block of West Wanda Drive, according to the WFAA report that attributed the account to Garland police. When an officer arrived, the suspect immediately shot him while the officer was in a police vehicle, police said.

Officer Christopher Reese, 30, worked for the Virginia Beach Police Department for about three years when he and a second officer, Cameron Girvin, 25, were killed Friday night during a confrontation after a traffic stop, authorities said.

Law enforcement officials say two police officers in Virginia have been shot and killed during a traffic stop.

A Garland police officer was shot and injured early Monday morning, the Garland Police Department said. Just after midnight, officers responded to reports of gunshots on West Wanda Drive near South First Street.

A police officer was killed Saturday after responding to a shooting at a central Pennsylvania hospital where the suspected gunman also was killed, officials said.

Garland PD public information officer Lt. Pedro Barineau updated reporters on the shooting. The officer is stable.
