TotalEnergies will pause investment in its Adani Green energy project until there is further clarity on a U.S. bribery case against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, the French group's CEO, Patrick Pouyanne,

PARIS (Reuters) - French oil major TotalEnergies SE was not informed of a U.S. investigation into possible bribery and corruption at Adani Green Energy Limited, it said on Monday, adding it will stop financial contributions to its Adani Group investments following last week's indictment.

TotalEnergies has issued a statement clarifying its relationship with Adani Group following allegations of bribery against Gautam Adani, the conglomerate's chair.

French-based TotalEnergies has announced a suspension of new financial contributions to the Adani Group of companies following the indictment of certain Adani Group’s executives by US authorities. The indictment is linked to an alleged corruption scheme associated with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL).

TotalEnergies said it will not make any new investment in Adani until bribery charges in the U.S. against some executives of the Indian diversified conglomerate are settled.

French oil major TotalEnergies SE said was unaware of a U.S. investigation into bribery allegations against Adani Green Energy and that it will halt financial contributions to Adani Group until the accusations are clarified.

SINGAPORE/SYDNEY, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Adani dollar bond prices fell to almost one-year lows on Monday as investors cut their exposure to the Indian conglomerate in the wake of bribery and fraud allegations from U.S. authorities.

TotalEnergies said it will not make any new investments in companies connected to India's Adani Group after the U.S. indicted founder Gautam Adani and other executives.

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) clarified that no new financial dealings are underway with TotalEnergies. This follows TotalEnergies' announcement to halt further investments in Adani Group until accusations of bribery against Adani officials are resolved.

Adani Green Energy said on Tuesday there is no new financial commitment under discussion with TotalEnergies, a day after the French oil major said it was pausing new investments into the Adani Group.

Total also owns a 37.4% stake in Adani Total Gas Limited, as well as a 50% stake in three renewable joint ventures with Adani Green Energy. Two of those joint ventures were entered into after the FBI served search warrants on Sagar Adani and seized evidence related to Adani Green Energy.
