An Irish court on Friday ordered mixed martial arts fighting star Conor McGregor to pay a woman who accused him of raping her six years ago nearly $259,000 in civil damages.

A woman who accused Conor McGregor of raping her has won her claim against him for damages in a civil case. A jury found that the Irish mixed martial arts fighter assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

The woman said the Dec. 9, 2018 assault after a night of partying had left her heavily bruised and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
