The GXP’s StabiliTrak and ABS become available on the base Solstice. A Club Sport suspension package with unique 18-inch wheels is optional on both models.

Aug 29, 2024 · Pontiac screwed up earlier with the '65 and '66 blocks giving thin wall casting a go, but after warranty claims went through the roof they abandoned the idea and the 1967 block was one of the beefiest blocks produced. I've seen some '67 blocks at .090" over and the cylinder walls were still decent.

Dec 24, 2024 · A new rebuild was brought to me where there was no compression in most of the cylinders. The mechanic (and I use the term loosely) got carried away torqueing the rocker nuts down and used enough force that the nuts over ran the shoulders. This kept the valves open and destroyed both the shoulder and the Pontiac nut.

Oct 20, 2009 · Pontiac iron head chambers were always beautiful but as-cast ports sucked. I've seen some really pretty and very well ported iron heads on the Westech flowbench only flow 230 at .500 lift. That same head with small 1.96/1.66 valves will have lower flow numbers than the larger valve head at higher lifts.
