Ahhh, tulip season. It's fast-paced, tiring, and subject to all the whims of weather. I harvested tulips during rain, shine, in the dark and a midday total eclipse over the last 14 days. Did you know there are over 1500 different tulip varieties? From traditional types to fringed to parrots to peony doubles colored in pinks, purples, reds, yellows, orange and near every shade in between. Minus black and blue. There are a number of tulips that look almost black when the light is right, but blue is an elusive color in nature and especially so with tulips.
