We lost another giant in black society, Assata Shakur AKA Joanne Chesimard. I had the privilege of reading her book while I was in college. At the University of Illinois we started a black book club where we had different historians come in like Stokley Carmichael, Frances Cress Welsing, Sister Soldier, etc. And one of the 1st books that we read was The Autobiography Of Assata Shakur who was accused of k*lling a state trooper, she escaped from Prison and moved to Cuba.
